PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the friction loss of a rocker arm forming a valve system, at its rocking motion supporting point. SOLUTION: On the side of one end 12 of the rocker arm 1, a pivot member 11 is provided which is supported on a receiving member 2 provided on a cylinder head 4 in a relatively pivotal motion adaptable manner. On the side of the other end 13, another end is provided which engages with the front end of a valve shaft 31 forming a suction/exhaust valve 3 in a relatively sliding motion adaptable manner. A steel ball 25 is installed between an front end 111 of the pivot member 11 provided at one end 12 of the rocker arm and a receiving portion 21 of the receiving member 2 for rolling motion between the front end 111 and itself.
