The component (7) for the assembly comprising a railway rail fastening clip having a first part for bearing on a railway rail and an anchoring device for retaining the clip, comprises a first portion (71) adapted to receive a lateral load from the rail when located between a substantially upright face of the rail clip anchoring device and the side of the rail foot and a second portion (72) for receiving a second bearing part of the railway rail clip, the portions being spaced apart and interconnected by a connection portion (73) e.g. comprising two parallel legs which straddle the anchor. The second portion (72) comprises two spaced bearing seats (75a) on the side of the anchor remote from the rail for the clip. The sealing plate is embedded in a sleeper (with rebates in its bottom surface to receive concrete) beneath the anchor and locates a connecting piece (74) of the component between the bearing seats (75a) between an upstand (25) and tabs (27). |
