The invention relates to a shoe (1), in particular a sports shoe, having an upper (2) and a sole (3), which is connected to the upper (2), wherein the upper (2) has, at least in part, a knitted material forming its outer surface (4). In order to ensure sufficient longitudinal elasticity in the forefoot region and a good fit, along with efficient production, the invention makes provision for the knitted material to consist of a first knitted material layer (5), which is produced from a first thread, wherein the first material layer (5) has arranged on it a second knitted material layer (6), which is produced from a second thread, wherein the second material layer (6) covers the first material layer (5) at least in part, wherein, in the region of the front half, as seen in the longitudinal direction (L) of the shoe (1), and/or in the heel region (9) of the shoe (1), the second material layer (6) runs, at least in part, in strip form in a direction transverse (Q) to the longitudinal direction (L) of the shoe (1), wherein, in this region, the second material layer (6) forms a number of strips (7) running parallel to one another. |
