<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To avoid transmitting probe information including unnecessary position information or the like to a probe information collection center before it happens. <P>SOLUTION: In this probe information collection system, an FCD (floating car data) on-vehicle machine 3 loaded in a vehicle (a bus) 2 decides whether a position of one's own vehicle is within a peculiar area or out of the peculiar area by deciding whether latitude longitude coordinates of the position of the own vehicle acquired from a GPS receiver 6 is within a closed area notified from the probe information collection center 4 or out of the closed area.
