PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To substantially expand the cyclic prefix length, without having to change the data block size or the total size of the cyclic prefix and the data block. SOLUTION: The transmitter comprises a section for inputting a data symbol sequence, a section for creating a data block from a plurality of data symbols, a section for obtaining a data block with a cyclic prefix by adding one or more data symbols at the tail of the data block, as a cyclic prefix, to the head of the data block, and a section for transmitting the signal of a data block with a cyclic prefix. The block-creating section employs the copy of k (k is an integer of 1 or larger) data symbols at the tail of the data block preceding the data block as the k data symbols that precede the data symbol being added as a cyclic prefix in the data block.
