Disclosed is a method for producing a plastic lens wherein a cured film is formed on at least one of the opposite surfaces of a plastic lens base. Specifically disclosed is a method for producing a plastic lens, which comprises a step for heating a plastic lens base to a temperature not less than the glass transition temperature of the base, a step for coating at least one surface of the opposite surfaces of the heated lens base with a photocurable composition, a step for irradiating the photocurable composition applied over the base surface with light and forming a cured film by curing at least a part of the composition, and a step for heating the plastic lens, on which the cured film is formed, at a temperature less than the glass transition temperature of the base but not less than the glass transition temperature of the cured film.
