The present invention provides a transmitting device 1 of a signal transmission system that multiplexes a plurality of information series which have undergone 8B10B encoding, and transmits same. The transmission device 1 is provided with: conversion units 101-103, in the same number as the plurality of information series, which perform 8B10B decoding on each of the plurality of information series, receive one of the plurality of information series after decoding, scramble the received information series and also add a synchronization pattern indicating the head of the frame in each information series after scrambling; and a multiplexing unit 14 which multiplexes the information series output from each of the conversion units 101-103.
