PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide: a modified diene polymer formed by polymerizing a monomer which does not use a fossil resource as a starting material; a method of producing the modified diene polymer; a rubber composition using the modified diene polymer; and a tire using the rubber composition.SOLUTION: A modified diene polymer is formed by polymerizing a bio-butadiene monomer compounded from a resource derived from a living object containing a botanical resources, wherein the modified diene polymer comprises at least one selected from a nitrogen atom, a tin atom, a silicon atom, a sulfur atom, and an oxygen atom, which are derived from a functional group in the modified diene polymer. |
