PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable transmitting multiple channels selectively by compression or non-compression, and to enable reproduction side to reproduce down-mixing on the reproduction side normally, even if the down-mixing is selectively permitted or inhibited. SOLUTION: An ATSI includes a 1st identifier to indicate whether multi-channel data within an audio packet is compressed and a 2nd identifier to permit or inhibit the down-mixing of the multi-channel data into stereoscopic two channels.
