PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it possible to update a file of an external storage device in a computer system having a write disabled file system without detaching the external storage device such as a hard disk from the system even when an operation input device is not mounted. SOLUTION: A computer system (1-4) is connected to a computer 5 on a network through the network, the computer 5 on the network sends a stop (disable) instruction of a filter driver 2B to an operating system 2 (S11), data written in the filter driver 2B is reflected to an external storage device 4 (S12), update data are written in the external device (S13), and then a filter driver restart (enable) instruction is sent (S14).
