PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical module capable of easily and exactly performing operations for processing and attaching an optical coupling part with a ferule end surface of an optical connector and further easily performing a cleaning operation in short time by considering its coupling surface as a narrow area. SOLUTION: The optical module has a sleeve component having a sleeve 11 which guides a ferule of the optical connector and a cylindrical glass component 14 as its sleeve structure 1. The sleeve component has a guide part (sleeve 11) which guides the ferule of the optical connecter and has first diameter and a storage part 12 which stores the cylindrical glass component 14 and has second diameter smaller than the first diameter. The cylindrical glass component 14 directly touches the end surface of the ferule and the whole of it is optically uniformly formed. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
