PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming method to produce a small-size image recording material produced by punching or cutting or the like after image formation by utilizing a regular-size transfer sheet by an existing image forming apparatus by using a small-size recording medium without post-processing such as punching. SOLUTION: The image forming method includes: a toner image forming stage for forming a toner image on the surface of an image carrier 103; a primary transfer stage for transferring the toner image from the surface of the image carrier to the surface of a belt-like intermediate transfer film 108; a fixing stage for fixing the toner image by heating and pressuring; and a secondary transfer stage for transferring the toner image from the surface of the intermediate transfer film to the surface of the recording medium while heating and pressuring in such a state that the surface of the intermediate transfer film 108 to which the toner image has been transferred is superposed on the surface of the recording medium. The surface of the intermediate transfer film to which the toner image is transferred has releasing property and the thickness thereof is≤50μm. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
