A catalyst component for the polymerization of olefins CH2-CHR, wherein R is hydrogen or a hydrocarbon radical having 1-12 carbon atoms. In particular, the present invention relates to catalyst components comprising Mg, Ti, halogen and a compound selected from phosphorous derivatives, boron derivatives and aromatic heterocyclic nitrogen derivatives. Said catalyst components are particularly suitable for the preparation of homo and copolymers of ethylene with alpha-olefins.
