The invention relates to a smart control device and system for infrared controls, using mobile phones and generic IR remote controls. The device controls electronic appliances that receive infrared signals, such as televisions, air-conditioning systems and other infrared-controlled household appliances located in the same room as the device, said device receiving commands both from a mobile application via Bluetooth as well as by means of a universal remote control with infrared output. The device can also control lights since it is equipped with an IR transceiver sensor that operates as an on/off switch upon detection of an interruption in the infrared beam.
