PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect density of developer and a total amount thereof with a common detector, and to improve productivity.SOLUTION: A development device (G) is configured to comprise: a density detector (SN1) that is disposed at a position where a blade part periodically faces each other accompanied by a rotation of a transportation member; transportation member control means (C5) that rotates the transportation member at a first rotation velocity when development is performed and rotates the transportation member at a second rotation velocity slower than the first rotation velocity when the total amount of the developer is detected; density identification means (C17) that identifies the density of the developer on the basis of a maximal value of a detection value detected by the density detector (SN1); and total amount identification means (C18) that identifies a total amount of the developer stored in a container on the basis of a minimal value of a detection value detected by the density detector (SN1) during a period of time in which the transportation member is rotated at the second rotation velocity. |
