摘要 The present invention relates to a voice recognition interpreter for providing interpretation of the user's voice using a smart device and a method for operating the voice recognition interpreter. When the user inputs a voice to a microphone, a voice signal is transferred to a smart device, which is connected via a near field communication network, such that interpretation is conducted. The voice signal is converted to an interpreted voice by an interpretation application installed in the smart device, and the converted interpreted voice is output through the speaker of the voice recognition interpreter. The voice recognition interpreter according to the present invention is connected to a smart device via a near field communication network such that the user can conveniently carry a small device, which is separate from the smart device, and be provided with the interpretation function. When the smart device provides the interpretation function, noise may be generated, when the user's voice is input, due to peripheral noise. The microphone of the voice recognition interpreter according to the present invention is arranged on the basis of the direction of propagation of the user's voice such that noise can be eliminated using the magnitude of the voice recognized by the microphone, thereby providing an interpreted voice more clearly. The voice recognition interpreter according to the present invention can control activation or deactivation of the microphone and of the speaker according to the situation of input or output, thereby removing echo signals.
