PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a process for forming a bottom plate for a hard disc drive.SOLUTION: Provided is a method and a device for forging a hard disc drive bottom plate having an elongated height. This method may include a step of advancing an initial hard disc drive bottom plate to a first forging stage among a series of progressive forging stages for forming a hard disc drive bottom plate, and a series of forging are executed over said series of progressive forging steps in order to progressively form components for the hard disc drive bottom plate. Further, this method may a step of executing a first forging work on the initial hard disc drive bottom plate, a step of pre-heating the hard disc drive bottom plate, and a step of executing a second forging work on the pre-heated hard disc drive bottom plate.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
