PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mutual utilization method of hydrogen-containing gas by which a petroleum refinery company (petroleum refinery process) A can reuse: a hydrogen-containing gas comprising reformer gas and sweet gas obtained in the petroleum refinery company (petroleum refinery process) A; and a hydrogen-containing gas obtained by a naphtha cracking separating unit 124 and a methylethylketone synthesizing unit 126 in a petroleum refinery company (petroleum chemical process) B, further, high-purity hydrogen can be separated from the hydrogen-containing gases and effectively used for a process requiring high-purity hydrogen in the petroleum refinery company (petroleum refinery process) A. SOLUTION: The mutual utilization method of hydrogen-containing gas comprises: a step of supplying at least the hydrogen-containing gas obtained from a petroleum chemical process to a heavy oil direct desulfurization process in the petroleum refinery process; a step of separating the hydrogen-containing gas obtained from the petroleum refinery process and the hydrogen-containing gas obtained from the petrochemical process into high-purity hydrogen and off-gas via a hydrogen separating membrane device; and a step of supplying the high-purity hydrogen to the petroleum refinery process.
