PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processor which can store image data acquired by reading an original into an external storage medium even when the residual capacity of the external storage medium is small. SOLUTION: When the image data acquired by reading the original by an original read section 15 is stored into a USB memory 5, a control section 10 detects a residual capacity of the USB memory 5. When the residual capacity of the USB memory 5 is not sufficient, the control section 10 temporarily saves the image data already stored in the USB memory 5 to a HDD 21 to increase the free capacity of the USB memory 5, and thereafter causes the USB memory 5 to store the image data acquired by reading the original. Further, when the USB memory 5 is connected to a loading port 22a and saved data are stored in the HDD 21, the control section 10 returns the saved data to the USB memory 5 complying with the instruction of a user.
