<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus for improvement of cardiac function, reduction of scar tissue formation, and/or augmentation of cardiac muscle regeneration after heart disease such as myocardial infarction or others by electromagnetic radiation. <P>SOLUTION: An optical element on the tip end section of a wave guide tube housed in an elongated probe for guiding into the cardiac ventricle includes a wide angle lens or fisheye lens for widening the biostimulative electromagnetic radiation or emitting a beam with a cross section larger than the cross section of the wave guide tube.
