The air conditioner 1 is equipped with an outdoor unit 10 and an indoor unit 20, and conditions indoor air. The indoor unit 20 is equipped with a control unit 25, a storage unit 26, and an infrared sensor unit 30 that detects infrared rays in order to detect the presence or absence of a person. The infrared sensor unit 30 has: thermal image obtaining elements 331 to 33n which detect infrared rays and obtain thermal image data; and a sensor control unit 34 which controls the thermal image obtaining elements 331 to 33n. Upon receiving the thermal image data sent from the infrared sensor unit 30, the control unit 25 determines whether or not a communication error has occurred in each of the thermal image obtaining elements 331 to 33n. The control unit 25 sets, as a communication error confirmation element, the thermal image obtaining element in which the total number of times the occurrence of the communication error has been determined is a certain number of times or more. The control unit 25 performs settings so that the thermal image data from the thermal image data obtaining element set as the communication error confirmation element are not obtained. |
