PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thrust roller bearing manufacturing method for achieving a longer life while allowing precise manufacture. SOLUTION: The thrust roller bearing manufacturing method comprises a collar bending step of bending a collar portion 26a on the outer periphery side of a cage 21 in the direction of a rotating axis, a pocket forming step of forming a pocket so that the face on the inner periphery side of the collar portion 26a on the outer periphery side is the wall surface on the outer periphery side of the pocket, and an ironing step of applying ironing work to the wall face on the outer periphery side of the pocket.
