PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polyarylene sulfide resin composition excellent in toughness and impact resistance by using a high purity polyarylene sulfide obtained by a simple and economic method. SOLUTION: This polyarylene sulfide resin composition is characterized by comprising, as an inevitable component, 1-70 pts.wt. of an epoxy group-containing olefinic copolymer (B) to 100 pts.wt. of polyarylene sulfide (A), where the polyarylene sulfide (A) has a weight-average molecular weight of≥10,000, and its weight reduction upon heating is extremely small.
