<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a shopping cart enhancing braking force of a brake mechanism during stopping, and facilitating handle operation for releasing brake. <P>SOLUTION: The brake mechanism provided on the shopping cart comprise a brake rod 8 provided with a brake shoe 80 press-contacting with a peripheral edge of a wheel 20 and preventing rotations of the wheel 20 at a lower end portion thereof, and a spring S1 always energizing the brake rod 8 downward. A rod lower portion 83 of the brake rod 8 is allowed to move forward/backward in a fixed range, and always energized by an auxiliary spring S2. Braking action is added to the wheel 20 by energizing action of these springs S1, S2. On the other hand, when a handle 3 coupled to an upper end portion of the brake rod 8 is rotated downward, the brake rod 8 is pulled up against energizing force of the spring S1, and the brake shoe 80 is separated from the wheel 20, thereby releasing brake. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
