A method of treating condensate, comprising monitoring Cl ions at an outlet of an ammonia type condensate demineralizer packed with an ion exchange resin, discontinuing water intake when the concentration or/and concentration increase tendency of Cl ions have become predetermined threshold or higher values, carrying out a mixing of resin layer without regeneration of chemicals and re-initiating water passage; and an apparatus therefor. Such a phenomenon that the peak of Cl ions occurs at the outlet of the condensate demineralizer can be appropriately prevented to thereby enable continuing the operation after ammonia break for a period of time longer than in the conventional operation with the result that not only can the frequency of regeneration be extensively reduced to thereby enable prolonging the period of stable treatment continuation but also an extensive cost reduction with respect to condensate treatment can be attained by reduction of the amount of regeneration agent used, etc. |
