Cutting machine for cutting stacked, leaf-shaped goods and method

The machine (1) has a table (2) with a horizontal table surface (3) to accommodate a good to be cut. A knife (8) is displaceable perpendicular to the surface to cut the good. A feed saddle (12) feeds the good to the table in a direction of a cutting plane (6). A press device (18) having a die plate (29) is displaceable perpendicular to the surface to clamp the good adjacent to the plane between the press device and the table. The press device extends over a width of the table. The plate extends until to the feed saddle with respect to a position of the feed saddle distant to the cutting plane. An independent claim is also included for a method for operating a cutting machine for cutting a stacked, leaf-shaped good.
