1. A method, comprising:
dissolving an 8 carbon to 18 carbon quaternary ammonium surfactant in about 150 mL of 4:1 (v:v) water/absolute ethanol; adding drop wise a stoichiometric amount of a titanium alkoxide to form a reaction mixture; stirring the reaction mixture for approximately 18 to approximately 24 hours, during which time a precipitate forms; collecting the precipitate; washing the precipitate several times with 95% ethanol; heating the precipitate at about 75° C. to about 125° C. for about 0.5 to about 2 hours; and calcinating the precipitate at about 250° C. to about 550° C. for about 4 to about 7 hours. |
