PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thermosensitive recording material having a small wear of a thermal head even in the case of recording with excellent transparency, a wide dynamic range and a high thermal energy without occurrence of a sticking or an abnormal sound at the time of recording. SOLUTION: In the thermosensitive recording material comprising a thermosensitive recording layer and a protective layer sequentially provided on a support; the protective layer contains a pigment having 50% volumetric mean particle size measured by a laser diffraction method of 0.300 μm or less, a particle content of a particle size of 1.0 μm or more occupying the total particles of 3% or less, and a central line value Ra of a surface roughness of a frequency component range of 2 to 10 μm of a period of roughness of the surface roughness of the total frequency range of the surface of the protective layer of 0.3 μm or less. |
