A mouth prop for dental treatment is provided to enable a dentist to give conveniently medical treatment by installing a lighting unit lighting up the oral cavity of a patient. A mouth prop(100) for dental treatment is composed of a pair of support units(111,112) obliquely formed at the upper and lower parts correspondently to the angle between molar teeth of the upper and lower jaws when a patient opens the mouth, and supporting the upper and lower jaws to keep mouth of the patient opened; a mounting hole(115) formed between the support units in a longitudinal direction; a lighting device(120) installed in the mounting hole to light up the oral cavity; and a light exposing hole(116) formed on the lateral side between the support units to expose the light irradiated from the lighting device. The lighting device comprises a lighting apparatus(121), a case(122), and a cap(123). The lighting apparatus has a battery embedded in a cover; an anode and a cathode; a light emitting body(121e) electrically connected with the anode and the cathode; and a switch(121g) connected to one of the anode and the cathode by an elastic member and elastically moved by external pressure, to make the light emitting body radiate by bringing the anode and the cathode being in contact with each other. The case contains the lighting apparatus and has a window exposing the light of the light emitting body to the outside and threads formed on a part corresponding to the switch. The cap is joined to a part of the case where the threads are formed. The cap brings the anode and the cathode being in contact with each other by applying pressure on the switch.
