PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display apparatus and method, and a program and storage medium, capable of raising a response speed and reliability by eliminating DC component imbalances caused by over-driving. SOLUTION: The display apparatus comprises an image data input means S11 for inputting an image data to display next, and a frame rate conversion means S12 for converting a frame rate of the image data odd number times. Also, the display apparatus includes an image data comparison means S13 for comparing the converted image data with the one-frame preceding image data stored in memory, and a judgment means S14 for judging the comparison result. Further, the display apparatus is provided with an over-drive driving means S15 for performing over-drive driving by raising or dropping the driving voltage when the judgment means S14 judges that the image data is not in agreement. Further the display apparatus is provided with a polarity reversal means S16 for reversing the polarity for each frame to output the image data when the judgment means S14 judges that the image data is in agreement.
