#CMT# #/CMT# Controlling a distiller comprises continuously or intermittently measuring the quantity of reflux led back from the rectifier to the kettle and the quantity of liquid condensate discharged from the cooling condenser. The temperature of condensate between the dephlegmator and the cooling condenser is measured. If the temperature of the condensate differs from the required value, the cooling of the dephlegmator is changed. The quantity of the reflux and the ratio of the reflux to the liquid condensate are changed.
