PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a stable folding quality and prevent power from being wastefully consumed. SOLUTION: A sheet bundle folding unit 60 comprises folding rollers 26, 27 brought into contact with and separated from each other and a projecting plate 25a pushing a sheet bundle between the folding rollers 26, 27 by pushing the sheet bundle. The folding rollers 26, 27 fold the sheet bundle by holding and conveying while rotating the sheet bundle pushed in by the projecting plate 25a. The amount of the sheet bundle pushed into the folding rollers 26, 27 by the projecting plate 25a is smaller as the thickness of the sheet bundle is smaller. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
