PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rotary compressor having a structure of not reducing performance of the rotary compressor, while avoiding the occurrence of strain of a cylinder of an area for constituting a suction conduit, even when fastening force of a through-bolt used for fastening a front head and a rear head is applied. SOLUTION: In this cylinder 12A, a stepped area 120c recessed outside in the radial direction over the whole periphery, is arranged on an inner peripheral surface on the suction pipe connecting port 120b side of the suction conduit 120. A suction pipe 5 is inserted into and connected to a suction pipe connecting port 120b so that a step height is not generated in a butting part of an inner surface of the suction conduit 120 and an inner surface of the suction pipe 5 (an area surrounded by A in Fig. 3).
