The gear differential (10) has compensating gears (20) designed as front toothed gears, and axle drive bevel gears (22a, 22b) designed as crown toothed gears. The bevel gears are connected with a set of multi-disk units (28a, 28b) of a multi-disk brake in a torque proof manner. Another set of multi-disk units (30a, 30b) are arranged at a differential cage (14) in a torque proof manner. The brake has pressure rings (32a, 32b) working on the units (30a, 30b) axially arranged on the cage. The rings are subjected with an axial force actuating the brake by actuators (38) arranged at a gear housing.
