PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery which is enhanced in battery performance in comparison to conventional ones.SOLUTION: A nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery comprises: a positive electrode; a negative electrode; and a nonaqueous electrolyte. The nonaqueous electrolyte contains a P-oxalate compound expressed by the following general formula: A[PX(CO)]. Supposing that the total amount of moisture included in the battery per one Ah of a capacity of the battery is W1, and the amount of the P-oxalate compound in the nonaqueous electrolyte is W2, the following relation holds: 2.25≤W2/W1, where 4.15(mg/Ah)≤W1 and 20(mg/Ah)≤W2.
