PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heat-resistant thermoplastic resin foam excellent in heat resistance and heat insulation properties. SOLUTION: The heat-resistant thermoplastic resin foam is obtained by expanding a resin composition containing 0.1-90 wt.% copolymer (A) comprising an aromatic vinyl unit, an unsaturated dicarboxylic anhydride unit and an N-alkyl-substituted maleimide unit and 99.9-10 wt.% copolymer (B) comprising an aromatic vinyl unit and a vinyl cyanide unit. The average cell diameter in the thickness direction of cells in the heat-resistant thermoplastic resin foam is 0.05-1.0 mm. The cell deformation ratio expressed by a ratio of the average cell diameter in the thickness direction to the average cell diameter in the horizontal direction of the cells in the heat-resistant thermoplastic resin foam is 0.8-2.5.
