A guide roll is provided to prevent the generation of wrinkles and to restrain the slipping of a web by treating the center of the guide roll to show anti-slipping properties and increase frictional force within the center of the guide roll only. A guide roll(10) guides and returns a travelling web. The center(16) of the guide roll is treated to show an anti-slipping characteristic. Both sides(18) of the guide roll are smooth and planar. The length(M) of the center is 20-70% as much as the total width(L) of the guide roll. The anti-slipping process is performed on grooves. The surface of both sides of the guide roll is plated. The guide roll is made of metal or resin impregnated carbon fiber. |
