PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently remove residues firmly adhered to the transfer belt of a belt type transfer device.SOLUTION: A cleaning device comprises: a first cleaning member 1 electrostatically removing the residues on a transfer belt 13, when a belt-type transfer device 12 performs a transfer operation; a second cleaning member 2 removing the residues on the transfer belt 13, when the belt-type transfer device 12 performs the transfer operation; a plate-like auxiliary cleaning member 3 disposed so as to be brought into contact with the transfer belt 13 and separated therefrom and scraping the residues of the transfer belt 13 in such a state that the plate-like auxiliary cleaning member 3 is in contact with the transfer belt 13, when the belt-type transfer device 12 does not perform the transfer operation and the transfer belt 13 is idled; and a contact/separation mechanism 4 relatively bringing the auxiliary cleaning member 3 into contact with and separating it from the transfer belt 13, so that the auxiliary cleaning member 3 is arranged in a contact position where the auxiliary cleaning member 3 is brought into contact with the transfer belt 13 or a retreat position where the auxiliary cleaning member 3 is retreated from the transfer belt 13, so that the auxiliary cleaning member 3 is arranged in contact with the transfer belt 13 at a previously set time during non-transfer operation by the belt type transfer device 12. |
