PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power transmission device for making effective use of oil discharged from an oil pump. SOLUTION: The power transmission device comprises the oil pump 7 driven with the rotation of a first rotating member 8 relative to a second rotating member 9, the oil pump 7 having operating members 11, 13 provided on the first rotating member 8, a cam 36 formed on the second rotating member 2 for contacting the operating member 13, and an oil chamber 14 for controlling force on the operating members 11, 13, and a control valve provided for controlling the amount of oil to be sucked/discharged into/from the oil chamber 14. A connection oil path supplies the oil discharged from the oil chamber 14 to the oil chamber 14 and another hydraulic system than a hydraulic circuit including a suction control valve and a discharge control valve. An energizing mechanism 15 brings the operating member 13 in contact with the cam 36 without depending on the rotating speed of the first rotating member 8 or the amount of the oil to be sucked/discharged into/from the oil chamber 14.
