PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a semiconductor device capable of effectively reducing a leak current while balancing the reduction and the effect of characteristics of semiconductor switches inserted to a feeding path on the whole operations of the semiconductor device. SOLUTION: The characteristics are controlled associated with the leak currents of the semiconductor switches SW1, SW2 inserted to the feeding path of a circuit block 1 depending on the operating state of the circuit block 1. For example, substrate bias voltages Vn_well, Vp_well are controlled so as to decrease the leak currents of the semiconductor switches SW1, SW2 in a sleep mode, and so as to lower the conductive resistance of the semiconductor switches SW1, SW2 in an active mode. Thus, the leak currents can effectively be reduced in the sleep mode while suppressing power supply voltage variations in the active mode caused by the conductive resistance of the semiconductor switches SW1, SW2.
