<p>A high-pressure gas storage system comprises a compressed gas feed (5) for a reservoir made up of a number of concentric spherical chambers (S1, S2, S3) formed by walls (4, 8, 9). The system also has pressure regulating valves (10, 11, 12) that control the pressure within the chambers to a level they are able to withstand. Other valves (6, 7, 13) regulate the gas pressure as the chambers are being filled and discharged. The spherical chambers are made from steel and assembled by welding, with the feed pipe passing through the chambers from the outside to the central one and connected to the different chambers by the valves, which can be operated mechanically by springs, pneumatic or hydraulic pistons or solenoid valves.</p> |
