PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a polyisocyanate composition capable of forming aqueous coatings having excellent water dispersibility, excellent weather resistance, excellent water resistance, etc., and useful for aqueous ordinary temperature cross-linkable urethane resin coatings by using a specific nonvolatile polyisocyanate having a high isocyanato group concentration. SOLUTION: This water-dispersible polyisocyanate composition contains 4-iscoyanatomethyl-1,8-octamethylene diisocyanate. The isocyanato group of the composition may be blocked with a blocking agent, and the above compound may have a polyethylene oxide chain in the molecule. The composition can be compounded with a polyol to produce an aqueous coating composition.
