<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately and easily match a color with a color tone, desired by a printing requester etc., from immediately after the start of printing by means of an IRGB densitometer inexpensive than a spectrometer, without waiting for the printing of an OK sheet. <P>SOLUTION: Firstly, a halftone-dot area ratio is determined from kcmy halftone-dot area ratio data for a printing object pattern which is acquired from the outside; the target halftone-dot area ratio of each ink color corresponding to a machine itself is determined by using an ICC profile of the machine itself and an ICC profile of a reference printing machine similarly acquiring the halftone-dot area ratio from the outside. A target single-color halftone density is predetermined from the target halftone-dot area ratio. After that, the printing is started; an actual color-mixture halftone density of a printed running-on sheet is determined by using the IRGB densitometer; and an actual single-color halftone density is determined from the actual color-mixture halftone density. A solid density deviation corresponding to a deviation of the actual single-color halftone density from the target single-color halftone density under the target halftone-dot area ratio is determined, and the ink supply amount of the printing machine itself is adjusted according to the solid density deviation. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
