PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging apparatus capable of suppressing reduction in frame speed by detecting flickers as needed in consecutive shooting in flicker-reduced imaging.SOLUTION: The imaging apparatus comprises: an imaging device; photometry means; flicker detection means; means which, on the basis of the period and phase of a flicker detected by the flicker means, drives a shutter in release to perform imaging with reduced influence of the flicker; and control means which compares a lapse time from the newest flicker detection by the flicker detection means with a reference time and thereby controls whether or not to perform flicker detection by the flicker detection means between consecutive shot frames.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
