A textile yarn (11) is modified by an aerodynamic process as is passes through a passage (3) in which incoming side air-jets (12, 13, 14) are directed at the moving yarn as it passes along a groove within the passage. The air jets (15) emerge from the sidewall to impinge on filaments to initiate a texturizing process, and then continue to the opposite wall (23) from which they rebound and impinge once again on the filaments. The air jet operates normally at between 0.5 and 7 bar and in some cases at up to 14 bar. The air jet is angled at between 0 and 10 to the passage longitudinal axis.
|
