PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a valve device capable of suppressing increase of a leakage amount of an EGR gas in fully closed, even when an axis of a shaft is positioned in a diameter direction of a valve element, and the shaft is disposed between opening ends of a seal ring.SOLUTION: A valve device 1 includes a valve element 2, a seal ring 9, and a shaft 3. The valve element 2 has the disc-shape, and rotated in an EGR flow channel 4 for returning a part of an exhaust gas from an exhaust flow channel to an intake flow channel of an engine to adjust an opening of the EGR flow channel 4. The seal ring 9 is disposed into the C-shape, has two opposed opening ends 8, and is fitted to an annular groove 7 formed on an outer peripheral edge of the valve element 2. An axis α of the shaft 3 is positioned in a diameter direction of the valve element 2, and is disposed between the opening ends 8. The shaft 3 is provided with two grooves 10, and the opening ends 8 are respectively fitted to the grooves 10. As a result, a flow channel to which an EGR gas leaks out, is provided with a structure having a plurality of curvatures, which increases flow channel resistance and suppresses increase of a leakage amount of the EGR gas in fully closed. |
