PURPOSE: An automatic music selection apparatus and a method thereof using user input is provided to create a play list by reflecting the taste information input by the user in real time during playback. CONSTITUTION: A music file storage unit(301) receives and stores music files from an external device or network. A user selection information input unit(305) creates selection information on the corresponding music file when the current music file is selected by the user during playback. A play list writing unit(307) writes out music files into a play list based on the music file selected by the initial user. A music play unit(313) reproduces the music belonging to the play list made in the play list writing unit.
