PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for smoothly and inexpensively producing thin-type polarizing films having excellent polarizing performance and hue.SOLUTION: The method for producing polarizing films includes a step of uniaxially extending a primary film primarily consisting of polyvinyl alcohol polymer in water bath containing crosslinking agent, and satisfies the following expressions (1) and (2). (1): 1≤A≤60 and (2): -0.0725×A+63.0≤B≤-0.0725×A+67.3 [In the expressions (1) and (2), A represents the thickness (unit: μm) of the primary film and B represents a temperature (unit: °C) for performing the uniaxial extension]. |
