<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To exactly control the temperature of a paper non-passage area easily at a low cost without causing noises even when a fixing roller has an area through which recording paper is not passed, and to exactly control the temperature of the fixing roller based on the accurate temperature of the heated area of the fixing roller regardless of the speed of the fixing roller. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus includes: an induction-heating means that has the fixing roller to perform fixing processing on recording paper passed through and a coil for generating a magnetic flux, and induction-heats the fixing roller by magnetic flux generated by the coil; a simulation heat generating means that has a second coil connected to the coil in series and induction-heats by magnetic flux generated by the second coil; and a control means for controlling the drive of the induction-heating means so that the temperature of the induction heat generated by the simulation heat generating means the temperature of which has a predetermined temperature relation with the temperature of the fixing roller, is maintained at a predetermined temperature. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
