The present invention provides an iris recognition USB device using an OTP function and a method of controlling same, the method comprising: a first process of acquiring, by means of a control module unit at the time of first use, an iris image of a user through a camera module unit provided in the USB device, numerically encrypting the iris image, and then registering iris information on a user in a memory unit; a second process of, when iris information on a user is input in real time after the first process, comparing the input iris information to the numerically encrypted iris information that has been numerically encrypted and then recorded in the memory unit, and conducting a first authentication; and a third process, following the first iris authentication of the second process, in which the control module unit generates a one-time password (OTP) and controls to externally display the OTP, and conducts a second authentication through the OTP on installed equipment. |
